Main applications and construction of the machine
The model YKA31160 CNC gear hobbing machine is of 2 axes one: X
axis (radial feed motion) and Z axis (axial feed motion). Both of
them are driven by AC servomotors. CNC control system adopts
Based on the principle of generating method, this machine is
designed to cut cylindrical spur & helical gears, slightly
tapered and crowning gears, as well as worm wheels under radial
feed. Axial and radial motions are driven by servomotors through
pre-loaded ball screw pairs.
This machine is manufactured and accepted in accordance with the
Chinese standard JB/T8360.1-96 “Accuracy Test of CNC Gear Hobbing
Machine”. It can be operated manually or automatically under one or
twice square cycles. According to the module of the gear machined,
under one- or multi- feed finishing cutting, its machining accuracy
can be up to Grade 7 according to the Chinese standard
GB/T10095-2001 “Accuracy for Cylindrical Involute Gears”.
Main functions and construction of the machine
1.With vertical design, column of the machine is fixed and the
worktable is moveable along the guideways of the machine bed in
radial horizontal direction.
2.Main guideways are of V-type ones and coated with Teflon, which
ensure stable transmission.
3.Both axial feed and travel of hob head slide are driven by Z-axis
servomotor. A pressure balance cylinder is designed for the hob
head slide to overcome vibrating resulting from cutting force. A
manual hob shifting mechanism is designed for the hob head.
4.Both radial feed and travel of worktable are driven by the X-axis

7.High precision worm gearing are used for the worktable indexing
system. The worm wheel is of tin-bronze alloy with good wear
resistance; the worktable is of Cu-Cr alloy and also with good wear
resistance. Its bearing capability is up to 3000kg.
8.Tailstock can travel automatically upward, downward or stop at
arbitrary position controlled by a hydraulic valve.
